My Story

I'm Sabina Allan, founder of Carmichael Collective – a studio dedicated to crafting distinctive, character-rich interiors. At the heart of my design approach is a love for hand-drawn sketches and carefully curated details that bring spaces to life with authenticity and purpose.

Based in New Zealand, I proudly offer bespoke interior design services nationwide. After graduating from Victoria University in Wellington, I travelled the country, soaking in its breathtaking landscapes and finding endless inspiration in its natural beauty. Along the way, I drew inspiration from local artists and stylists, weaving unique, meaningful elements into every project.

Sketching is central to how I design – it’s an intuitive way to capture fleeting ideas and translate vision into form. These quick, expressive drawings allow me to connect closely with my clients, ensuring their thoughts and aspirations are deeply understood and thoughtfully reflected in the final design.
